I received a call from a lady wanting me to help her with her on-line image. She was concerned because her business was slow and she had received numerous on-line reviews in Google that were negative. I won’t name any names here, but it just so happens that I knew first hand how her company did business. I was one of her unhappy customers. I told her I couldn’t help her and politely told her that if she thought the reviews were wrong to take it up with Google.

What I really wanted to say is that if you have numerous bad reviews on Google maybe you ask yourself “Does my company really suck?” As a owner of two small businesses I know first hand the importance of on-line reviews. I consider this when I deal with each and every customer. Nothing less than 100% satisfaction is acceptable in my world. The result of anything less will equal a bad review in Google.

So why is it then that some small business owners are so blind that they can’t ask themselves this questions instead of calling me to see if I can some how make the bad reviews go away? I can’t make them go-away.

Start from within if you have bad reviews and ask yourself the hard question

Is it really the service that I provide? If you are truthful with yourself you will find the answer.

If you do have bad reviews the only thing you can do is strive to do better. Change the system you have in place and make your customers #1. Provide a service that can’t be beat, be better than your competition, and listen to your customers-even their complaints. They are begging for you to make it right. They really are trying to tell you something.

I know, I had complained to that very business. But my complaints fell on deaf ears. They really did suck!
