Businesses Need to Update Your Facebook Place Sub Category

I noticed something today while I was running page ranks for the small businesses that I work for. Facebook is starting to show up in the search engines for location based keyword searches.

For Example: Say you are in need of a security guard in Friendswood Texas. You might Google security guards friendswood. Well the number three rank is for Facebook:

Friendswood, Texas – Security Guards/Patrols | Facebook

www.facebook.com/…/Friendswood…/Security-GuardsPatrols/…

As of the 2000 U.S. Census, Friendswood population was 29037. …Friendswood, TexasSecurity Guards/Patrols …Security Guards/Patrols in Nearby Cities …

If you will notice, there isn’t even a company listed on this page. They are being indexed solely on the page name. What does this mean for small businesses? They need to be sure to update their Facebook page to include a Sub Category ( up to three may be chosen.)

It’s really easy to do, just click the edit profile icon->then choose your place sub categories.

The potential down fall that I see coming is that if a small business services multiple cities then I bet there will be black hat SEO people out there trying to make a page for each different city they work in. Similar to what we have seen on the Google Maps frontier.

I hope this helps with your local SEO attemps. If I can be of service or if you would like more help with LOCAL SEO TECHNIQUES please feel free to give me a call 866-388-5028

Google has gone too far with Google Related. Small business owners need to make their voices heard. Say NO to this all intrusive BEAST.

As a small business owner my self it infuriates me to know that I have built a website, search optimized it, and made it the very best that I could. Just when I think to myself, why would anyone want to go anywhere else after landing on my website, now they are given 6 “related places” on the bottom of the screen. All of which are my local competitors. What exactly gives Google the right to advertise competitors on my web page?

I have clients spending upwards of $5,000 per month on Adwords. And now that they have paid to have someone click on their add, they are presented other “related places”. I would like to charge Google for advertising on MY WEB SITES.

Now I pressed the “provide feedback” link at the bottom of the tool bar, guess what, the link doesn’t work. Go figure. Getting a little too much negative feedback on the Google? I sure bet you are.

Google you are getting to big- no one likes a company that over steps its bounds. I’ve earned this customers click and at the very least I deserve to get to show them my company with out the over intrusive offer to show them my competitors.

Just say NO to Google Related.

If you agree, please let me know.

To the unprepared and clueless, Google’s Adwords can be confusing and certainly dangerous. So now we’ll move ahead into serious discussion about common mistakes to avoid when using Google Adwords advertising.

People who aren’t well versed in AdWords often make the mistake of not researching their markets thoroughly. Before you take your first step towards starting your AdWords campaign, it’s important to know your market inside out, which is why research is so important. You also want to have a good sense of who your competition is and what they’re up to. You want to understand what your targeted keywords are worth and how high your bids should be.

Your AdWords campaign depends on a variety of factors, but the one element that’s critical is your choice of keywords. Make sure you do the proper amount of keyword research, and make use of one or more online tools to help you with this. The management of your AdWords campaign becomes so much easier and more effective once you’re done with your market research.

Never ignore the power of negative keywords in yoru PPC campaigns. Negative words contribute so much such as improving the quality of the traffic because it will become more and more targeted. Search engines do it differently, so just look for “negative keywords” and add yours there. Just remove any keywords from your campaign that are not relevant and targeted.

It’s always highly advisable to begin any new campaign on a low-end daily budget. But this could actually turn out to be a mistake because when you set your budget too low, Google won’t even show your ads. What you’re trying to do is see how your ads convert, etc, and you need to get enough impressions and click-throughs to make that determination. But also remember that the numbers Google gives you are not written in stone. You can always make adjustments any time you want.

All in all, if you truly want AdWords success, then don’t ignore the mistakes we discussed above.

Check These Out:
mobile monopoly
mobile monopoly review
