This tweet pulled 1st page search engine results on Google and offers a very powerful message to anyone looking for spray tanning in Friendswood. She outranked an older more authoritative site in doing this. I think this could be a powerful tool that could be used to get traffic to your small business. 

Disect the tweet for a moment. She got the keywords tanning, Friendswood. She’s got the business name and a special offer. Would a link have made a difference? I don’t know. This is something to experiment with and see.

How could you use this to promote your business?

There is some disagreement as to how long the tweets remain in the index. And obviously there are so many tweets out there how does Google decide which one to index? That’s still to find out.

I plan to keep my eye on this tweet and others and will update my findings on my blog. I will let you know how long they remain indexed. In the meantime I plan to do a little Twitter investigation and see what I can find out on which one’s get indexed. If anyone out there would like to contribute your thoughts or experiences on this I would love to hear from you.  This is an evolving topic and I expect it will get a lot more attention.
